Digester Move from Port Hawkesbury to Nackawic

The Challenge:
Move seven pulp digesters for ICS State from Port Hawkesbury, NS to Nackawic, NB. Each digester weighed about 70 tons and measured about 68 feet in length by 19 feet in diameter.
Our Solution:
Irving Equipment created and executed a meticulously detailed transportation plan. The first stage was to remove the digesters by crane from their existing building and deliver them on a MPKE360 transporter to the waterfront. Next, we transferred the cargo by crane to a large deck barge and shipped it to Saint John.
At the Port of Saint John, we used a 300T all terrain crane to transfer the digesters to shore, and again used a MPKE360 transporter to move them to the rail siding. From there, a special train delivered the cargo to Harvey, NB, where we unloaded it with a 200T Demag crane. For the final leg of the journey to the project site in Nackawic, we transported the digesters on a heavy road float.
At the site, we employed a 440T Liebherr crane to install the digesters, completing this complex and challenging project on time and on budget.
