12/23/2011 - In the October issue of Manitowoc’s LookingUP magazine, our Manitowoc 16000 is featured in an article (page 4) about a current pile driving project in Prince Edward Island. The crane had the capacity to do the sea wall job, rather than using a barge mounted crane. This is yet another example of our Pile Driving Group’s history of providing innovative solutions. Although the project is still underway, the 16000 completed its work in August.
11/21/2011 - Sprott Power Corporation is currently in the process of completing construction of a newly developed wind farm in Amherst, Nova Scotia. The work is featured in Strategize Magazine’s winter 2011 issue in the Farms of the Future article (pages 60 to 64), describing the importance of renewable energy as a “mixed solution for growing power consumption,” Jeff Jenner, President/CEO, Sprott Power Corp. Pictured is the 100 ton Manitowoc – W-222. Our Pile Driving Group was responsible for driving pile for 10 turbine bases and two sub stations; we were on site approximately 75 days and drove 320 piles, for a total footage of approximately 25000 feet. Irving Equipment’s scope of the job was recently completed, two weeks ahead of schedule. As Irving Equipment continues to support the production of renewable energy, we look forward to working with Sprott Power Corporation in the future for more successful jobs, as well as partnering with other developers, owners and operators.

06/21/2011 - Irving Equipment is pleased to announce the addition of a Liebherr LTM1500 to our fleet. This 650 ton all terrain will service customers throughout Atlantic Canada and New England. Equipped with all lift options, the crane is available with both the 50m and 84m hydraulic booms. For added flexibility the crane is also equipped with a 91m luffing jib and a boom guying system.
Mike Hussey, General Manager of Irving Equipment, says “The Liebherr LTM1500 was purchased due to customers’ requests for increased lift capacities in the industrial and wind sectors. With the LTM1500 we are able to complete work that would have previously required a large crawler crane. This allows us to reduce our mobilization cost to site and the crane’s smaller footprint reduces our environmental impact on sensitive wind project sites.”
